my new motto of the day in my photography experience:
"take more time to save more time"
in german:
"nimm dir mehr zeit um mehr zeit zu sparen"
I've been into photography for the past 7 years now, and the experience I had today might be a change in the way I prepare, plan and shoot photos. Today I had a shooting that needed also to be printed today. This means the preparation and setup, planning and shooting is today, the selecting and approval of photos is today, the editing of the pics is today, and ordering and printing the pics in magazine size is also today. I've brought all my important equipments, and when I was on site, I said to myself: How am I able to do all these things today? So I planned, planned... tested and tested, 3 types lenses were used today, some shots were made in long exposures with tripod, some shots were made handheld and with soft fill flash light... and the more I planned and tested, the more the results got better. The more I took time, the better the pics became.
Next step:
selection and approval of pics: 5-10minutes, done
Editing of pics:
1 minute per pic, done
no more thinking and planning during edit, no more compromises. no more big enhancement needed anymore. no more "oh shit its not sharp enough" or "oh shit I should have removed/done this" or "i should have put some light here and there also". and most of all: not much of correction in white balance anymore. I've invested almost 1 1/2 hour in my shoot, more than I usually do for the type of subject/theme I was shooting. The results in my opinion are awesome, and the usual editing time I spent for so many photos was usually between 30min. to 2 hours, and it was reduced to only a few minutes of edit.
One reason why my real passion in photography is landscape despite I do alot of portraiture, is bec. in landscape photography you take your time, you plan ahead, you prepare alot instead of doing more setups. You dont rush things, but rather take alot of precaution. Today, what I usually do in Landscape Photography, is what I did on my subject/theme today. And it was worth it every minute I've spent in my shooting. It was a great experience, and I believe this would change the way I will shoot in the future.

Issues I've got with Wannabe Purist Photographers
If you are a purist and have by faith came upon my journal, then I encourage you to keep on reading with an "Open Mind". Now if you're like me who likes to tweak or manipulate his photos for a good purpose, then I encourage you also to read since I will make some strong pointers that you can also use as argument towards purists.
Almost every subject nowadays has evolved the past 50 years. Even Photography has evolved. The Digital Photography is one of the biggest evolutions in Photography. The way people treat and shoot photos was never like they do it today. And many purists CANNOT accept that. Why? Because they believe it became too easy m
